Clint Walker's Blazer

PHASE TWO - FROM CALIFORNIA TO KANSAS CITY

The initial photographs will provide images of the vehicle on Clint’s property, and the steps taken to prepare and transport the vehicle to my home near Kansas City, Missouri. Additional pictures will show the vehicle at my home and the progression of the restoration to date. It was exciting to hear the engine running, considering the vehicle had been sitting for 31 years!

Special Thanks and Recognition

I want to offer a special “thank you” to my son-and-law, Logan, for making the trip with me to California and getting the engine running at my home. Additionally, Chato’s Automotive Service, in Grass Valley, CA, was extremely helpful in getting the Blazer ready for transport and overseeing the actual shipping from California to my home.

My neighbor Tim introduced me to Sam, a semi-retired GM mechanic, who has become a major blessing regarding the repair and restoration of the Blazer. One short video shows Sam behind the wheel as the engine was running, with all the wheels supported off the ground and spinning. The four-wheel-drive system works! Additionally, K & L Auto Body has provided excellent service in repairing two dents on the Blazer.

Phase 3 will provide final pictures and a video of the Blazer when restored and fully operational. As you will see, the vehicle will retain its current colors (patina), as it was for the Kodiak TV series, but now showing normal wear and weather-related issues.

Thanks so much for taking the time to check in on our progress!
